I’m Brett Springston, and I am so proud to be your next Superintendent.
For those who don’t know me — I’ve spent 40-plus years in Texas schools as a teacher/coach/principal/superintendent, and my heart has always been in small-town schools where kids are known and loved.
My daughter Alyssa is grown, out of college, and living in San Antonio; we are excited to join this community.
Our theme this year is simple: "SOARING TO B — EVERYTHING WE CAN B"
Ask me about it; I'll share everything. How do you eat an elephant?
To our teachers — thank you for staying. You could have gone to Kerrville for more money. You stayed for our kids. I will fight for you.
To our parents and landowners/business owners — thank you for trusting us with your kids. My door is always open. If you see me at any of our restaurants or the football field, please stop me and say hello.
I know we have work to do. We are a C-rated district right now. Together with Ms. Loughner, Ms. Gonzalez, and our amazing teachers, we work united in our cause, all moving our students in one direction.
My promise: I’ll be visible, I’ll be honest, and I’ll work as hard as anyone in Real County.
I’ll be out and about this week meeting folks. Please come say hi. I want to learn what makes Leakey, Leakey.

We had an incredible week full of growth, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Our athletes did an amazing job bonding as a team and learning to trust and rely on one another during stunts. Their hard work and determination truly paid off!

💙 Won the Spirit Stick twice
💙 Earned a Blue Ribbon in our cheer evaluation
💙 Received the Technical Excellence Award for Crowd Effectiveness
